He closed the festival and his show was deeply disappointing.I saw him for Art Basel December 4, 2015, and it was spectacular.This theme continues for 'Loud Places' featuring bandmate Romy as the dreamy, celestial atmosphere continues whilst the crowds completely zone out beneath the trippy tones.Intense and energetic, Jamie xx sounded better live than on record: fatter, richer, and with deeper dynamism.His band are known for their wistful alt-pop yet his own music bends the conventions of dance, house and electronica.If I wanted to go clubbing I would have been chosen to go Saturday night.He was a master of his decks and a pin-point selector, mixing everything from house and techno to more bass-driven garage.It's eclectic and for many it'll be a gateway drug to explore different genres of dance music further. Joy Orbison is definitely the kind of DJ who plays to the room - his sets are fun, buoyant, and at times he?ll throw in a Bill Withers or Milly Vanilly vocal, but always punctuated with his hard hitting basslines.It really showed how steeped in UK dance music he is, and the attention to detail, not only in his mixes but also in his own original tracks, proves, to me at least, that much of the buzz surrounding him is justified.The Oval set was rounded off with the now staple segue of Swims, Ellipsis, and finally BRTHDTT.His two-hour set at the Oval Space in London last year was a display of the biggest tracks currently out there, and there was much deftness in the transitions, pacing, and builds of the music.The crowd was a mix of ages, perhaps not surprising given the strong ?old-school.The Jamie xx Tour Announcements 2020 & 2021.

To say the least, I was extremely satisfied.The duo came together at Southbank University, where Cornwall native Kai Campos met Dom Maker, a film student from Brighton, and soon after they met they were making music together in a tiny home studio in Peckham.Great bassist, great drummer, great band.The band were not finished however, and five months later released a follow up E.I would definitely go back to see them again.Loved it, was raw and unique to their studio stuff.My excitement grew as I saw hundreds of people show up that were just as excited I was.Won't book on advance with you again as this is unacceptable.When I heard about a genre called post dubstep and Mount Kimbie, a band apparently responsible for the term, I was indeed very interested and curious about what they were about, what they sounded like, and most of all, whether or not I would like it just as much, if not more, than my beloved dubstep.
